A Mumbai DRI operation busted an 8-person gold network stretching from an airport employee to a Kalbadevi smelter. In Kerala, a man cleared customs with 1.16 kg of gold hidden inside an emergency lamp — caught only after he'd walked out. In Trinidad, a drug-and-gun shipment was addressed to a retired customs officer. Hong Kong found 22 kg of ketamine not at the airport, but in a Tsuen Wan apartment. And the Philippines seized 34 containers of illicit cigarettes across two days.

Australia's largest-ever cocaine bust: AFP officers found 2.7 tonnes of cocaine buried in sealed drums beneath false floors of three shipping containers at a Sydney-area property (AU$816 million). A South African woman at Phuket Airport had 16 kg of heroin wrapped in black tape inside seven bags of cat and dog food, bound for Uganda. Also: Réunion Island caught its 35th drug mule of 2026, an 18-year-old Canadian arrived in Sri Lanka with 35 kg of hashish, and a Ukrainian driver at Bulgaria's busiest checkpoint had 774 undeclared pill boxes and 10,400 counterfeit wheel-logo stickers.

A Netherlands-to-HK air cargo shipment labeled "water-based primer paint" turned out to contain 100 kg of ketamine in the cans — HK$46M total. Five men were arrested at Eastbourne Marina after a fishing vessel returned from an English Channel drug transfer carrying 425 kg of cocaine (£34M). A Macau cashier collected a parcel labeled "clothing" and walked out with 661 prescription diet pills, the end of a four-year parallel-trade operation. Plus 82,000 vapes in a "holiday decorations" container, 499 kg of meth in a polypropylene truck at Laredo, and 1.48 million cigarettes in a remote New Territories metal hut.

A 47-year-old man tried to leave Hong Kong at Lo Wu with one capsule of etomidate — a surgical anaesthetic — hidden in a sock, alongside a vaporiser. At the airport, the streak hit Day 6: 12 kg more cannabis from Bangkok, pushing the six-day total to ~97 kg and HK$34.5M. Across the water, 10 taped-up musk turtles were found in a dual-plate car on the HZMB. In Sydney, an EastEnders actress was charged over 320 kg of meth in charcoal bags from Ghana.

Two strangers, same Rome flight, 29 kg of ketamine

On the fourth consecutive day of drug seizures at Hong Kong International Airport, two unrelated passengers on the same Rome–HK route were found carrying a combined 29 kg of ketamine — completely independently. A third case from the day before, a Brazilian courier with 2.85 kg of cocaine in a false-bottom suitcase, was announced alongside. Four-day streak total: ~82 kg, 10 arrests. Separately, the Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau raided two booths at the Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong trade fair on its closing day, seizing 21 counterfeit pieces and arresting four.

Two unrelated 50-year-old men — one Japanese arriving from Amsterdam, one British arriving from London — were caught at Hong Kong International Airport on back-to-back days carrying a combined 42 kilograms of ketamine worth HK$16 million; Hong Kong Customs says they never met. Also: CBP's Laredo Field Office pulled nearly $984K in cocaine from two separate vehicles on consecutive days at two different Texas border crossings, a Taiwanese traveler was caught smuggling 304 live animals through the cross-strait "Small Three Links" route, and Irish Revenue seized 30.7 kg of cannabis at Dublin Airport.
